The legendary Billy Idol is set to revisit his most commercially successful era with a premium vinyl reissue of his 1983 classic, Rebel Yell. Interscope-Capitol has announced an all-analog, 180-gram One-Step edition of the album, scheduled for release on November 20. Pre-orders for this definitive pressing are currently open for fans looking to secure a piece of rock history.
Originally released on November 10, 1983, Rebel Yell served as the pivotal second solo album for the former Generation X frontman. The record was instrumental in cementing his status as a global superstar, blending punk energy with polished pop-rock sensibilities. Produced by Keith Forsey and featuring the signature guitar work of Steve Stevens, the album reached No. 6 on the Billboard 200 and achieved double-platinum certification in the United States. It spawned enduring hits such as the title track, “Flesh for Fantasy,” and the Top 10 single “Eyes Without a Face,” all of which became staples of the MTV era.
This latest reissue has been meticulously mastered from the original analog tapes by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. To ensure the highest audio quality and collectibility, the release is limited to 3,000 numbered copies. Each unit is housed in a premium gatefold jacket and slipcase, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity that details the specific mastering, plating, and pressing process used to create the record.
