As the 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza sets to unveil at the Villa d’Este in the scenic Cernobbio comune in northern Italy, longtime partner A. Lange & Söhne has also revealed the special edition 1815 Chronograph that’s to be served as the award for the winner of the “Best of Show” category.
Given the link to motorsports, the chronograph was a fitting choice as the prize for the classic cars competition. In the past, A. Lange & Söhne have presented special editions of the Lange 1 Time Zone as the price, which has since changed to the 1815 Chronograph in 2021. The prize piece arrives in a polished white gold case, featuring a salmon-hued dial made from solid 18K pink gold. The chronograph counters are dressed in a sunray brown, echoing the deep chocolate hue of its accompanying leather strap.
On the flip side, the timepiece spotlights a specially hand-engraved hinged cuvette, marked with the year 2024 and inscribed with Concorso d’Eleganza around the periphery. The caseback can also be opened to reveal a transparent crystal sapphire, providing an unobstructed display of the L951.5 Manufacture caliber. Equipped with a flyback function, jumping minute counter, column-wheel control as well as a 60-hour power reserve, the movement is a technical testament to the Maison’s commitment to pursuing innovation and precision.
The 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza will take place between May 24- 26 at the Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, Italy. Take a closer look at the timepiece in the gallery above.
