In a nod to the closing chapter of its 4L twin-turbo V8 engine, Bentley has unveiled a North America exclusive offering, the “Edition 8.” This limited collection features variants of its iconic Continental GT, GTC and Flying Spur models.
Notably, the “Edition 8” lineup embodies a curated selection of the most luxurious options from Bentley’s bespoke Mulliner division. This includes the novel Palm Fluting on the seats — a first for mainstream Bentley models — alongside the choice between 22-inch five-spoke or ten-spoke wheels and Bentley’s innovative Rotating Display. Each model also boasts Comfort Specification seats with contrast stitching, further enhancing the interior’s luxury.
Further accentuating the exclusivity of the collection, each model is marked with “Edition 8” badging prominently on the exterior, seats and treadplates. Customers will have their pick from over 60 hues in the Mulliner Extended Paint range. Additional bespoke features like self-leveling wheel badges, LED welcome lamps and a polished ‘jewel’ filler cap, originally designed for a custom commission, are testaments to Bentley’s commitment to craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
As Bentley gears up to introduce its Ultra Performance Hybrid electrocharged powertrain, the “Edition 8” serves as a send-off in America for the current-generation V8, which has powered Bentleys since its introduction in 2012. Over 53,000 units of the V8-powered Continental GT, GTC, and Flying Spur have been handcrafted to date at Bentley’s factory in Crewe, England.
The shift away from the traditional V8 engine aligns with Bentley’s “Beyond100” strategy, which aims to offer a hybrid variant for all its model lines by the end of 2024. Price and availability for the “Edition 8” models are now available through authorized Bentley dealers in the U.S.
