BMW has unveiled the all-new M5, marking its seventh generation with a significant leap into electrification. For the first time in its 40-year history, the vehicle now features an M HYBRID system, blending a 4.4L V8 engine with an electric motor to produce a combined output of 727 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque.

This new hybrid system allows the BMW M5 to achieve impressive performance metrics, including a 0 to 60-mph sprint in just 3.5 seconds. The M5’s exterior design features an aggressive stance, with prominent wheel arch extensions, a sculptural front apron and unique surfacing around the C-pillar. Inside, the cabin gets a touch of luxury, with M-specific enhancements.

Technological advancements in the new M5 include an M HYBRID drive system that combines a high-revving V8 engine with an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission. This setup provides seamless power delivery and enhances the car’s dynamic driving capabilities. The electric motor can generate up to 197 hp, contributing to an all-electric range of 42 to 43 miles.

The M5’s chassis is equipped with adaptive M suspension and Integral Active Steering, ensuring precise handling and agility. Advanced driver assistance systems and the latest BMW iDrive based on Operating System 8.5 enhance the driving experience.

BMW has shared that the all-new M5 will make its official debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed taking place in July, with production to start the same month. Price and availability have not yet been announced at the time of writing.
