Boldy James has been releasing music at an absurd clip the past few months, to the point where it’s actually become a divisive point for fans of the Detroit street rapper. Would the work benefit from a slower pace than his current one, a rate of four albums and two EPs in the past 13 months?

Well, make that five albums: yesterday James shared an X link for a new, Bandcamp-exclusive project called THE EXCORCISM. It’s not billed as a Boldy James release, but a new duo called 88:88, which appears to be a collaboration with Virginia producer The Flaurist. The beats on this project are more polished and adventurous than some of the other full-lengths Boldy has shared, and he sounds like he’s having a lot of fun (especially on “St. Mike,” where he breaks down how cold he is with the demeanour of an Unc so Cool he can peer through dimensions).

The 10-track project is a Bandcamp exclusive for now, and Boldy is moving with Mach-Hommy motion for the time being, pricing a download of the project at $888.80. If you do end up buying a copy, make sure that Bandcamp doesn’t display your profile on the album’s landing page, because chances are that someone will try to find and rob you.
