A hazy, post-work soundtrack for a steamy summer evening from the Liverpool-born, Perth-based producer and vocalist KUČKA.
Earlier this year KUČKA released her debut album, Wrestling, following a prolific stint singing and producing with a dizzying array of artists, including Vince Staples, SOPHIE and Kendrick Lamar, as well as a slew of irresistible, forward-thinking singles, including ‘Drowning’, ‘Ascension’, which received a pupil-dilating remix from Mssingno, and ‘Eternity’.
It’s undoubtedly been an incredibly busy time for the artist, so it is perhaps unsurprising that for her Fact mix KUČKA has put together a supremely chill selection of tracks designed to unwind and loosen up. “This is the ideal mix to take you from the afternoon to the evening,” she explains. “I chose tracks that I love to play when I’ve just finished up work for the day and I’m about to kick back and relax.”
Opening with a leisurely meander between a downbeat album cut from Wrestling, a highlight from producer OTTO’s latest for PLZ Make It Ruins and choice picks from RAMZi, KUČKA carefully heats things up to a gentle simmer with low-key heaters from Brijean and Blue Hawaii, before breaking out an elegant collection of low-lit, smoked-out dance tracks.
Wrestling is out now. You can find KUČKA on Instagram.
