Tune in on Fact this weekend for a host of performances from the festival, which takes place in a unique location.
Fact has partnered with Italy’s Nextones Festival to bring you highlights from this year’s event, which will include the premiere of Caterina Barbieri’s new live show, light-years, as well as performances from Tomoko Sauvage, Pantha Du Prince and more. The festival runs until Sunday, August 1 at Cava La Beola di Monte, a historic quarry located between the shores of Lake Maggiore and Val D’Ossola.
Barbieri’s new light-years show sees the Italian composer and modular synthesist perform with a changing cast of collaborators. For her Nextones show, Barbieri will appear with Nkisi, Bendik Giske and visual artist MFO. light-years is also the name of Barbieri’s new label platform, which last week issued its first release, a collaborative single with Lyra Pramuk called ‘Knot of Spirit’ – watch the video for that above and buy or stream here.
2021 marks the festival’s sixth edition, with art direction being handled by Threes, a Milan-based agency that focuses on cultural sustainability. Other artists booked to play this year’s event include Lubomyr Melnyk & SPIME.IM featuring Julia Kent, Felicity Mangan and Adiel.
Fact will be presenting video highlights from the festival this Friday, Saturday and Sunday on our website, YouTube amd Instagram. For more information on the festival, including lineup and ticket sales, visit the Nextones website.
