Urban musician J Aktive announces exciting music video releases for the super hit tracks from his new album Bad Luv. The brilliant artist explains his choice of genre and the sounds he looks forward to unravelling in the future: “I just want to create a brand new genre! I’m a big fan of Neo Soul at heart. I love artists like Music Soulchild and India Arie. But I also love being aggressive in my music because it comes so naturally to me, so I like to blend the two with my lyrical hip hop style.”
J Aktive believes sincerity and transparency is what attracts people to his music. Being classified as mainstream isn’t a negative thing, as long as one is honest in their creations. The LA-based artist explains that popular music is mainstream, because it brings something to the table that the majority of people can relate to.
The fast-rising musician may be inclined to create alone, but that doesn’t mean he’s not ready to collaborate with other artists. Indeed, J Aktive has many dream collabs that include working with megastars like Lauryn Hill, Lil Wayne, and J. Cole.
New music videos are on the way for J Aktive. “The One” music video is dropping very soon and he’s also working on shooting another music video, directed by Nat Majette.
