Rapper and songwriter Lay B, a Global Status talent, has debuted with a killer number ‘Rags 2 Riches.’ Hailing from Atlanta, Lay B serves urban vibe, and reflects on his life, evolution and faith.
As the press release notes: In ‘Rags 2 Riches,’ he shares his personal story, upgrading from a mediocre everyday rap, to just going all-in with it, partly thanks to his brother who always gave him constructive criticism regarding his art. From a very young age, Lay B was exposed to multiple musical influences, and artists such as Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smallz, Eminem, Nas, and 50 Cent, inspired him to create his own lane in rap, made of straightforward lyrics and undeniably innovative.
‘Rags 2 Riches’ is dope, yet not the most innovative track. Confidently, Lay B presents his talents, and introduces himself as a skilled MC and a rapper with a good taste to choose the beats he drops his lines on. Overall, with such a debut Lay B scores high, but leaves us slightly hungry for more.
