Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming Michael Jackson biopic will reportedly address the allegations of child sexual abuse made against the late King of Pop and attempt to paint him in a positive light.

As per Puck News, one of the early scripts of Michael has a scene that sees law enforcement raiding Jackson’s Neverland Ranch after Jordan Chandler accused him of sexual abuse in 1993. The report continued to note that this version of the script goes to “great lengths to minimize and downplay the actual claims and eviscerate the Chandlers” and “convince you Michael is innocent.” The Jackson estate-approved biopic is also scheduled to release in 2025 — the same year Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck’s civil trial against the late artist will take place. However, it remains to be seen whether the allegations will be included in the final cut.

Michael will star Jaafar Jackson, Jermaine Jackson’s son and Michael Jackson’s nephew, in the titular role. The biopic is set to examine “the complicated legacy” of Jackson — including the performances that gave him the title of “the greatest entertainer of all time” and the child sexual abuse allegations.
