New Details Emerge in Keion White Shooting Civil Suit Against Lil Baby

A civil lawsuit has brought new light to the February nightclub shooting in San Francisco that left NFL player Keion White wounded. The legal action, filed by Chandler McBride, names Lil Baby as a defendant, alleging that the rapper’s entourage created a dangerous environment that led to the violent confrontation.

McBride, who identifies as a close friend of White, claims she was grazed by a bullet while standing behind the San Francisco 49ers player during a private event in the basement of the Dahlia Lounge SF. According to the complaint, the venue had implemented multiple security checkpoints, including pat-downs and bag checks, for the invite-only gathering. However, the situation allegedly deteriorated when the rapper arrived with a large group.

The lawsuit asserts that while the rapper had been invited to the club, he was not on the guest list for White’s private event. After initially being placed in a VIP area on the main floor, he reportedly requested to move to the basement. McBride alleges that security then cleared space for the entourage, displacing guests and bypassing the established security protocols.

“Members of [Lil Baby]’s entourage reacted with hostility. Two men from the entourage attempted to punch Mr. White, and moments later two men from the entourage produced firearms and opened fire into the private room,” the complaint alleges. McBride, who was recording the incident on her phone, sustained a bullet graze to her right thigh, which left a burn hole in her shorts and caused bruising.

The legal filing accuses the rapper of negligent infliction of emotional distress, arguing that he owed a duty of care to those present when he directed his entourage into the private space. While the complaint does not accuse the rapper of firing a weapon himself, it emphasizes that his actions and failure to control his group increased the danger to those in the room.

This civil litigation runs parallel to ongoing criminal proceedings. In October, prosecutors announced charges against Gregory Walker and Curtis Green in connection with the shooting, alleging that Walker fired the weapons while Green brandished one. McBride is seeking a jury trial and damages for her physical injuries and ongoing psychological trauma, including panic attacks and anxiety.
