Offset is currently navigating a complex web of legal challenges, with a new lawsuit adding to his mounting professional and personal difficulties. Producer ChaseTheMoney has initiated legal action against the rapper, claiming he was stiffed out of $20,000 for his contribution to the track “Worth It,” which appeared on Offset’s 2023 studio album, Set It Off.
The producer alleges that the track was utilized without a finalized payment agreement. However, the situation is far from straightforward. Offset had previously taken the initiative to sue ChaseTheMoney, asserting that a deal was reached in early 2023 that included a $20,000 payment and a 4% royalty split alongside a co-producer. According to the rapper’s camp, the conflict arose when the producer’s new management team intervened months after the album’s release, demanding compensation significantly higher than the original terms.
Offset’s legal team has dismissed the claims as a “money grab,” maintaining that the original agreement was both legitimate and binding. “A deal was negotiated with Mr. Rose and his management, and he agreed to compensation and credit for his contribution,” the team stated in a response to TMZ. “After the record was released, and with new management in place, he refused to honor that agreement and has attempted to renegotiate for fees well beyond industry standards under the threat of litigation.”
This dispute is merely the latest in a series of high-profile legal and personal hurdles for the artist. Earlier this year, Offset faced an arrest warrant related to a misdemeanor battery charge from December 2025, though that warrant was recalled by an LA judge in late February. Furthermore, he is currently dealing with a lawsuit from the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit regarding an alleged $100,000 unpaid credit line.
The situation was further complicated by a violent incident on April 6, when the rapper was shot in the leg outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. While the FBI continues to investigate the shooting, no arrests have been made to date. Despite these compounding issues, the artist remains active, having returned to the stage just days after his hospital release.
