Rhian Teasdale, the lead singer of the acclaimed indie-rock outfit Wet Leg, is set to captivate audiences in a new short film for Milk Makeup. Despite her roots in the remote Isle of Wight, Teasdale effortlessly embodies the vibrant, fast-paced spirit of New York City in this upcoming project, which is scheduled for release on Monday, September 14.
The film, which serves as a centerpiece for the brand’s latest campaign, features Teasdale alongside a diverse cast of local New York City creatives. These participants were selected from a pool of over 1,000 hopefuls who attended Milk Makeup’s open casting call held on July 17 at the brand’s Soho headquarters. The production boasts a high-profile creative team, with direction by Arnaud Uyttenhove, choreography by Sergio Reis—known for his work on Troye Sivan’s iconic music videos—and styling by Sarah Richardson, Editor-in-Chief of Beyond Noise.
Since the 2021 release of their breakout single “Chaise Longue,” Teasdale and her co-founder Hester Chambers have seen a meteoric rise in the music industry. Their self-titled 2022 debut album secured two Grammy Awards, and they successfully maintained that momentum with their 2025 release, moisturizer, which featured the hard-hitting track “mangetout.”
This collaboration marks Teasdale’s first foray into the beauty campaign space, where she aims to translate the raw, authentic energy of her music into a visual medium. Fans can look forward to the full release of the Milk Makeup short film this coming Monday.
