Stereolab return with “Aerial Troubles,” share 2025 tour dates

Just in time for spring’s season of renewal, Stereolab have announced Instant Holograms On Metal Film, the first new album in 15 years from the French-English pop group. The project is out May 23 via Duophonic UHF Disks / Warp; a day later, the band will embark on a massive world tour. Scroll down to see those dates.

Below, you can hear the band pick up pretty much exactly where they left off with the new single “Aerial Troubles.” A bit of space-age yacht rock here, a bit of piqued choral harmonies there, “Aerial Trouble” doesn’t waste any time settling into the Stereolab-shaped groove in your brain. The song appears in a new music video directed by Laurent Askienazy.
