Netflix is taking a look behind the scenes of Prince Andrew’s infamous interview with Newsnight surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein scandal in 2019. Releasing a first teaser for the new project, the trailer sees Gillian Anderson star as the notorious Emily Maitlis, whose grilling on the BBC interview left Prince Andrew in enormous humiliation. The dramatization, titled Scoop follows the behind-the-scenes process of the interview of Prince Andrew’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
In the trailer, Anderson’s character Maitlis can be seen with her team prepping for the interview at Buckingham Palace that Prince Andrew agreed to speak out on. Revealed to be one of the most shocking British TV interviews of all time, the prince has since settled the sexual assault case filed against him by Epstein-accuser Virginia Giuffre. Rufus Sewell plays the prince and Billie Piper plays Sam McAlister. Philip Martin of The Crown is directing the film .
Scoop arrives on the platform on April 5.
