45 Pounds, share “Sickle Walk” “>
YHWH Nailgun, the New York-four piece making some of the most tense and exciting rock music in North America, have announced their debut album. 45 Pounds drops on March 21 via AD93/Many Hats, and its new single “Sickle Walk” is out today.
For newcomers and existing heads alike, “Sickle Walk” is a prime cut of YHWH Nailgun at the peak of their powers. Zack Borzone sings like he’s got a sleep paralysis demon on his chest, sputtering and wheezing with a rhythm and tenor that merges Playboi Carti with a David Lynch villain. His presence is made more visceral by the surrounding instrumentation, a disembowelling of post-punk and jazz traditions that at once has the energy of an abandoned house and a furnace on the verge of explosion.
You can hear “Sickle Walk” in the music video below, followed by the 45 Pounds cover art. In April, YHWH Nailgun will embark on a North American tour across the United States and Canada; find those dates below.
