Clairo stars in a rare music video for “LEMONHEAD”

Clairo might be a pop star but if there’s one thing she’s never been comfortable with it’s music videos. Three albums deep into her career, the singer has released just a handful of videos and starred in even fewer. She famously shot zero visuals for her breakout record Immunity as well as its followup, 2021’s Sling. Only more recently, for 2024’s record Charm, has she begun dabbling in the art form again, first for “Sexy for Someone” and then the boxing-focused visual of “Juna.”

You can now add another to that list. In rare form, Clairo not only appears in but is the entrancing star of a new video by artists Kim Tee and koby, names you may not be familiar with but are apart of the Clairo universe. Tee plays guitar in Clairo’s band, while koby is a producer in her circle; JDM Global, an artist who features on the song, is in the band Shelly with Clairo.

“LEMONHEAD” is Tee and koby’s latest single, a super sleek, electroclash-y bop that sounds like getting up to no good in the city at night with your friends. That’s pretty much the vibe of the video, too, which follows Clairo in a white tee and mini skirt as she prowls the streets of New York City smoking cigs, doing the Ariana Grande My Everything pose on city benches (see 2:14), and bravely laying in the middle of a road. Friends, clearly, not only make things easier but have the power to make the previously impossible, possible. Check out the video below.
