Loe Shimmy Unlocks New Flows on His Next Album

Loe Shimmy is determined to make 2026 his biggest year yet. As he prepares for the release of his upcoming album, Pretty Girlz Run The World, the Florida rapper is focused on expanding his sonic palette and refining his craft. During a recent visit to The FADER offices, Shimmy shared his vision for the project, emphasizing a desire to dominate the charts across every season.

Following his standout contribution to Drake‘s Habibti and the release of his single “Body Dangerous,” Shimmy has been hard at work in the studio. He describes the new album as being more oriented toward his female fanbase, though he promises that the project will retain the hard-hitting energy his club-ready tracks are known for. His recording process, which typically involves creating hundreds of songs before curating a final tracklist, has recently shifted toward a more deliberate focus on song structure and experimenting with diverse production.

A New Creative Direction

The music previewed during his visit suggests a continuation of the melodic sensibilities found in Rockstar Junkie favorites like “Angel Reese” and “Private Party.” Shimmy noted that the album features a blend of new collaborations and familiar faces, all recorded with the goal of challenging his previous boundaries. “I worked with a lot of new people and with the same people I got,” he explained. “But I wanted to get challenged, make different vibes, different pieces. We’re coming different on this one for sure.”

When discussing the evolution of his sound, Shimmy highlighted his commitment to perfection. He described the process of revisiting recorded tracks to refine their structure, comparing it to a painter fixing errors on a canvas to elevate a song from a seven to a ten. This attention to detail, he says, is driven by a natural ear for music and a deep passion for the creative process.

Studio Essentials and Artistic Vision

Beyond the technical aspects of production, Shimmy shared a glimpse into his studio environment. His essentials are surprisingly specific: 1942 tequila, a variety of Skittles, and a rotation of chips. For Shimmy, maintaining a comfortable, well-catered space is vital to his ability to create at his peak. “Just a comfort zone where I could just create 100%,” he remarked.

As for the album’s title, the concept emerged organically last fall. “I came up with the idea of Pretty Girlz Run The World when I made the title track,” he said. “Dedicate this one to the girls. And ever since then, that’s just what I’ve been on.” With a focus on melodic flows and versatile tracks that cater to every mood—from happy and sad to turnt up—Shimmy is poised to deliver a project that resonates globally.
