The upcoming documentary Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger, which chronicles the monumental Liam and Noel Gallagher Live ’25 reunion tour, is officially set to make its world premiere at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival. Directed by Steven Knight, the film offers an intimate look at the band’s return, featuring exclusive rehearsal footage, behind-the-scenes moments, and candid interviews where the brothers reflect on their long-standing and highly publicized feud.
While an exact premiere date during the festival’s run—scheduled for September 2 through September 12—has yet to be confirmed, festival curator Alberto Barbera has verified that both Liam and Noel Gallagher have committed to attending the event. Following its festival debut, the documentary is slated for a wider release on September 9 in select IMAX and U.K. cinemas, with an international theatrical rollout following on September 11.
The project captures the gravity of the band’s return to the stage. The Live ’25 tour marked the first time the brothers had performed together since the group’s acrimonious split in 2009. That breakup, triggered by a backstage altercation in Paris, led to 15 years of public tension and separate musical paths before their eventual reconciliation.
Following its theatrical run, the documentary will be available for streaming exclusively on Disney+ internationally, while audiences in the U.S. will be able to view the film on both Hulu and Disney+ later this year.
