Tallahassee is home to Florida State University and Florida A&M University, and that college-town energy shapes the city’s culture. Young people, big ambitions and a constant flow of new faces make it a natural breeding ground for fresh artists like 1ripNick.
His single “Understand It” matches that environment. It’s high-energy hip-hop and trap, the kind of sound that fuels house parties, game days and late nights across the city.
The alternative edge in his music reflects another side of college towns: experimentation. Places full of young people tend to embrace artists who don’t fit neatly into one genre.
A song about being understood also hits home for anyone at that stage of life, trying to figure out who they are while others try to define them.
Whether you’re on campus or long past it, the record taps into that restless, ambitious feeling. Stream it and bring some of that energy into your own day.
