Tyga Sued Over Canceled Taiwan Concerts and Unreturned Funds

Rapper Tyga is currently embroiled in a legal battle involving allegations of fraud and breach of contract. According to reports, Beijing Tongxing Wanxin Catering Management has filed a lawsuit against the artist for failing to appear at two scheduled performances in Taiwan, while allegedly retaining a significant portion of the performance fees.

The legal action stems from missed appearances at Club Pac Star, originally slated for August 4 and October 27, 2023. While the artist reportedly returned $10,000 of the $145,000 fee as a settlement, the plaintiff claims the remaining $135,000 remains outstanding. The company is now seeking the full balance, along with interest and punitive damages.

This legal dispute adds to a growing list of grievances regarding the artist’s canceled appearances in the region. In a statement released on March 20, 2025, Taipei’s Department of Legal Affairs confirmed that it had received 52 formal complaints from consumers who were left without refunds for a separate booking. That specific incident involved a November 21, 2024, show at Zepp New Taipei and an associated after-party at OMNI.

The promoter for the Taiwan events, Onion Production, initially cited “unforeseen personal matters” involving the artist as the reason for the cancellations. Following pressure from local officials and an administrative inquiry, the promoter stated that refunds began in mid-January 2025. The company attributed delays to strict anti-money laundering verification requirements in Taiwan and noted that funds were transferred to the ticketing platform Eventix for processing.

As the legal proceedings continue, the case highlights the complex logistical and financial challenges inherent in international touring and the subsequent fallout when contractual obligations remain unfulfilled.
