Air Jordan 1-Inspired 2022 Ford GT Surfaces for Auction

A unique 2022 Ford GT inspired by the iconic Nike Air Jordan 1 is set to go up for auction via RM Sotheby’s. This factory-optioned supercar, with Serial Number N085, showcases an eye-catching “Nadal Red” and “Frozen White” exterior color scheme, paying homage to the original Air Jordan 1 “Chicago,” launched in 1985.

The car, a Canadian-delivery model, boasts $90,700 USD in optional equipment and comes with an impressive suite of documentation including a Ford Design Kit, build correspondence, assembly photos and its original window sticker. With just 165 miles on the odometer, this GT has been meticulously maintained in a near-new condition.

Ford’s GT has been a symbol of automotive prowess since its shocking reveal at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Developed in secrecy, the GT aimed to dominate on the road and the race track, successfully clinching first place in its class at the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. Unlike its V-8 predecessors, this GT is powered by a 647 hp, twin-turbo, 3.5L EcoBoost V-6 engine, enabling acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds, with a top speed of 216 mph.

The design of the 2022 GT marks a revolutionary departure from its predecessors, with a focus on aerodynamic efficiency and lightweight construction. Its futuristic bodywork features innovative flying buttresses, optimizing airflow and maximizing downforce without compromising on the car’s aesthetic appeal.

Ford’s stringent application process for purchasing a GT, paired with its limited production run of only 1,350 units through the 2022 model year, has made this supercar a rare and highly sought-after model among automotive enthusiasts and collectors.

This particular GT’s connection to the Air Jordan 1 sneaker is a testament to the owner’s dual passion for cars and footwear, resulting in a vehicle that is as distinctive as it is dynamic. The exterior’s bold color palette, complemented by gloss black lower elements and red brake calipers, flows seamlessly into the interior, which features red-and-white-striped seats and red shift paddles.

Notably, this Air Jordan 1-inspired 2022 Ford GT is set to go up for auction via RM Sotheby’s on May 31, as part of its upcoming Dare to Dream Collection Sale — which features a significant range of rare vehicles, sneakers and other collectibles.
