Beyoncé Announces Country-Themed ‘Renaissance: Act II” Album on Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl LVIII garnered the attention of the world, bringing both sports and music fans together. While the Kansas City Chiefs fought to stay on top, Beyoncé herself had a big night appearing in a Verizon Super Bowl ad about breaking the internet, which later set the tone to her surprise new album announcement.

During Super Bowl Sunday, Beyoncé delivered a series of teaser videos for the long-awaited part two of her 2022 RENAISSANCE. Now, it appears that RENAISSANCE: Act II is coming much sooner than fans expect. The upcoming album is the singer’s eighth studio album. Taking to her Instagram to drop the news along with two new songs from the country-themed album, she can be heard saying in the ad, “Ok, they ready — drop the new music. I told y’all the Renaissance is not over.” The final teaser video features the album title, Act II and the official release date of the album. The teaser also gave a snippet of the new track, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” referencing the poker game and the singer’s home state.

Shortly after, two songs appeared on streaming services, first on Tidal before the official visuals went up on YouTube. The country-themed “Texas Hold ‘Em” hears a string of acoustic guitars kick in before the bass drum and vocals that hear Beyoncé sing, “It’s a real-live boogie and a real live hoedown, don’t be a bitch just take it to the floor now.” She drops a second song that transforms from country to an orchestral arrangement, titled “16 Carriages.” Take a look a the teasers below and take a listen to the songs on all platforms where music is available and watch the visuals on YouTube below.
