Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer have officially been announced as the latest actors to star in a new upcoming film, The Death of Robin Hood. The project is led by Michael Sarnoski, who directed A Quiet Place: Day One.

It appears that Wolverine and Killing Eve are uniting on the big screens, but so far, there has not been much detail regarding the the release. So far, the official synopsis reads, that Robin Hood, the legendary heroic outlaw finds himself “grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder.” As opposed to previous versions, it seems that this iteration will see the story of Robin Hood, “a battleworn loner [who] finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman, who offers him a chance at salvation.” The titular character is portrayed by Errol Flynn and it seems like the film is heading into a direction reminiscent of Richard Lester take on the story with his 1976 Robin and Marian starring Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn.

Production on the new film is slated to begin next year in February. Sarnoski said in a statement, ““It has been an incredible opportunity to reinvent and freshly innovate the story we all know of Robin Hood. Securing the perfect cast to transform the script to screen was essential. I could not be more thrilled and trusting in Hugh and Jodie to bring this story to life in a powerful and meaningful way.”

Stay tuned for more details.
