Mercedes-AMG has unveiled its latest innovation, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID, a plug-in hybrid model that blends power, efficiency and cutting-edge technology.

Scheduled to arrive at U.S. dealerships later in 2024, this new addition to the Mercedes-AMG lineup showcases a thrilling pairing of an AMG-enhanced 3.0L inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine and a high-performance electric motor, delivering an impressive 577 hp combined system output — 604 hp with RACE START — achieving a 0-60 mph sprint in just 3.7 seconds.

While the E 53 HYBRID certainly offers some raw power, it’s also designed for efficiency and performance, capable of pure electric driving up to 87 mph, thanks to its 161 hp electric motor integrated within the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission. The vehicle’s 400-volt, 28.6 kWh battery, strategically placed for optimal weight distribution, supports electric driving for everyday use and provides an electric boost for high-performance driving situations. Charging is also designed to be as convenient and quick as possible, with an 11 kW onboard AC charger and a 60 kW DC fast charger that can replenish the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes.

Notably, the new E 53 HYBRID’s body shell has been reinforced for greater rigidity, improving lateral dynamics and steering precision. This commitment to performance extends to the vehicle’s design, featuring AMG and hybrid-specific elements that underscore its sporty and dynamic character.

Inside the cabin, the new model impresses with exclusive trim options, the latest MBUX infotainment system with hybrid-specific displays and power-adjustable AMG sports seats, ensuring a luxurious and connected driving experience. Additionally, the vehicle comes standard with AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive and a new AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with adaptive damping, tailored specifically for the hybrid model to offer a perfect balance between ride comfort and dynamic handling.

Taking exclusivity to the next level, a not yet revealed limited “Edition 1” model will be available for purchase in 2025, this special edition combines luxury and performance with its unique MANUFAKTUR Moonlight White Magno exterior paint complemented by striking black graphics. It rides on 21-inch AMG forged cross-spoke wheels in matte black, detailed with high-sheen rim flanges and center caps featuring the “Edition” label within a laurel wreath.

The appearance is further enhanced by black-painted brake calipers adorned with white AMG logos, and the inclusion of the AMG Night Packages which add several high-gloss black and black chrome design elements. Inside, the “Edition 1” model dazzles with black Nappa leather seats accented by yellow decorative stitching and exclusive carbon trim elements, creating a bold contrast that underscores this model’s special status.

As previously mentioned, the first examples of the new Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID are expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships later in 2024, with retail pricing yet to be announced.
