Mercedes-AMG has introduced its latest concept, the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed, during an exclusive premiere at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix. This striking concept car offers a glimpse into the forthcoming Mythos series, a highly exclusive line from Mercedes-Benz.

The PureSpeed is a significant departure from traditional design, boasting an entirely open, two-seater configuration without a roof or windshield. This bold design pays homage to legendary racing cars, offering a direct and immersive driving experience. The concept was unveiled on a floating pontoon in Monaco’s harbor, captivating attendees, including Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

“The Concept Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed offers a glimpse of what is probably the most direct way to experience performance and driving pleasure,” stated Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, adding “Radically open, neither a roof nor the windscreen separate the two passengers from the elements. You can experience light, air and passion unfiltered with all your senses.”

Limited to just 250 units, the PureSpeed is designed for dedicated Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and collectors. The concept combines cutting-edge materials and technology with design elements reminiscent of the Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar. Notable features include the HALO safety system, replacing the conventional A-pillar and enhancing both safety and aerodynamics and custom-designed helmets for a Formula 1-like field of vision.

The vehicle’s aesthetics draw inspiration from iconic Mercedes racing models. The eye-catching paint job transitions from Le Mans red to graphite grey, with a black AMG pattern, echoing the victorious Mercedes car from the 1924 Targa Florio race. Design elements like the muscular rear shoulders and carbon fiber wheel covers enhance both performance and style.

While specifics on price have not yet been shared at the time of writing, the limited edition is expected to make an official debut sometime next year, as part of the upcoming Mythos series.
