Before they were known as pinponpanpon, the members of the Japanese digicore girl group—Domenatsu, Katherine, and Tokyo-chan—were strangers, each pursuing their own creative dreams. According to a new manga released by the trio, their paths were destined to cross in a way that feels as vibrant and chaotic as their music.
To celebrate the release of their debut album pinponism, which arrived on October 10, the group has unveiled a mini graphic novel that recounts the (almost) true story of their formation. While the manga is currently available for download exclusively via their official website, the band has shared a selection of pages that offer a deeper look into their world. These pages feature snapshots from a recent trip to Hawaii, their unique perspectives on the “pon” phenomenon, and detailed personality breakdowns for each member.
pinponism serves as the official full-length introduction to the group, following their 2023 EP PinPonPeaceProject. The record features seven tracks of blown-out, high-energy, and distinctly “cute-ified” digicore. This release marks the culmination of a breakout year for the group, which saw them take their sound to international stages, including performances at Frost Children’s Frost Fest, Summer Smash, and Los Angeles’ Anime Expo.

The manga serves as a visual companion to the sonic landscape of the album, bridging the gap between the group’s digital aesthetic and their real-world experiences. By blending personal anecdotes with their signature hyper-pop sensibilities, pinponpanpon continues to solidify their position as one of the most exciting acts in the modern electronic scene.
