A rare automotive gem, the 1994 RUF RCT built on a Porsche 964 RS chassis, has surfaced for auction via Bring A Trailer. This unique vehicle, thought to be the only one of its kind, was originally developed by the celebrated Pfaffenhausen-based German tuner as a development and press car, making its history as rich as its engineering.

After its assembly, the car stayed with its initial private owner in Heinsberg, Germany, from its production year until 2017, before being imported to the U.S. in 2021. It comes with a range of iconic RUF features, including a turbocharged 3.6L flat-six engine enhanced with Bosch Motronic engine management and a bespoke RUF six-speed manual transaxle.

The RCT stands out with its Polar Silver Metallic finish, complemented by black leather and tartan plaid cloth upholstery. The exterior boasts rolled fenders, an aluminum hood and the iconic RUF “whale-tail” spoiler. This model also includes 18-inch RUF/Speedline wheels and sophisticated suspension and braking systems upgraded by RUF.

Inside, the car offers a minimalist yet high-performance setup with black leather-trimmed Recaro Pole Position seats, manual crank windows and reduced cabin insulation for a lighter build. The cockpit is equipped with unique green-letter VDO gauges and a Blaupunkt Montreux stereo system, enhancing the vintage yet sporty feel.

Included in the sale are the Porsche factory books, a RUF certificate confirming its authenticity and singular build, tools, spare parts and a clean Michigan title. This special vehicle embodies the RUF’s customization capabilities and also represents a significant piece of the tuner’s illustrious history.

Collectors and enthusiasts can place their bids on the vehicle now via Bring A Trailer’s official site, with the current highest bid, at the time of writing, sitting at nearly $600,000 USD — with ten days left on the clock.
