Spitfire Audio’s Cinematic Sounds Are Coming to the MPC

Spitfire Audio and Akai Professional have officially released two new sound libraries for the MPC ecosystem: Originals Intimate Strings MPC Edition and Originals Cinematic Pads MPC Edition. This collaboration represents a significant expansion of the partnership between the two companies, which was first unveiled earlier this year at NAMM 2026.

These new libraries are designed to integrate Spitfire’s renowned, composer-friendly sound design directly into the MPC workflow. By bringing these instruments into the standalone environment, producers can now access high-quality orchestral and textural sounds directly from their pads and controllers, eliminating the need to switch between external software and hardware.

Spitfire Audio has long been a staple for film scorers and producers seeking premium sample libraries. By embedding these sounds into the MPC—a platform that remains a cornerstone of sample-based music and beatmaking—the collaboration effectively transforms the MPC into a more robust, compact scoring workstation.

Originals Intimate Strings MPC Edition captures the performance of 25 London-based string players recorded at the legendary AIR Studios. The library includes close and tree mic signals, alongside essential controls for expression, dynamics, and built-in reverb. Complementing this, Originals Cinematic Pads MPC Edition offers 23 evolving pad presets. These are crafted from a blend of orchestral sources, synthesizer elements, and processed textures, providing users with deep control over attack, release, distortion, and tonal shaping.

“Akai Professional gear has been with me for most of my music career,” Spitfire Audio founder Paul Thomson said in a statement. “I even started out writing orchestral drama underscores on an MPC60.”

The new libraries are compatible with MPC OS 3.7.1 and are available for users looking to elevate their production with professional-grade cinematic elements.
